Survived my First Party!

Sorry this is late, but I've been so busy, the majority of my homework is math, and everyone knows, I SUCK at math. I'm working on it though, so I'm proud of myself.

This entry is going to be short and sweet:
The parties that you see on TV or in movies like Animal House or the American Pie movies are not models of college parties. I mean, yes, there's drinking, smoking, sex and music, but it's not as crazy as you may think. Don't feel like you need to take part in the illegal acts going on around you because you feel like you want to fit in. Look, I'm not saying "Don't drink or smoke," I'm saying be careful. Know your limits and don't go overboard. I've had friends who may have taken in a little too much alcohol in a short period of time, and it shows. Puking and hangovers aren't attractive dears :)

I'm gonna try updating more often! Oh, and I'm applying for a job today! Happy days.

First Day of the Second Week

So far, I still feel like I'm in summer vacation. It might just be because I now live in Florida, or my workload just isn't... Bad. It's a great feeling. I am making sure to do my work though. Gotta stay on top of all my online reading and such. It's weird, I go to class and take notes, expecting quizzes and such in the class, but nope, I have to do homework and quizzes online. I'd be perfectly fine with this online work... If the Internet at school actually WORKED! Jeez, the professors keep saying "Make sure you have a reliable Internet connection!" Yeah... My Internet is provided by the school lady, my fate rests on a server that keeps dying every 30 minutes!

I had three classes today, spread only fifteen minutes apart, so I got a workout running from building to building! But when my classes were finally over, I got to chill with my roommate and go to a Zumba class! Of you haven't tried it, I highly recommend experiencing it. It's one of the most fun exercises I've ever done.

I finished off my day by meeting some friends at the dining hall that is open until two in the morning. We literally sat there for two hours laughing our asses off about the most random stuff (and keep in mind that I was the only female in the group, oh the testosterone!).

I finally got back to my "dorm sweet dorm," put my PJ's on and just dat and talked with my roommate as we tweezed our eyebrows in our bathroom's mirror. This is a taste of college folks, sitting in a sink, tweeting my eyebrows. My nights are just full of wonder.

First Week of School - DONE!

Woo! Survived the first week of school! Only had two classes today and was finished before lunch time :)

The rest of my day was pretty chill, just hung out with friends, made a quick trip to Target and bought some exercise clothes... Because I forgot mine at home.

When we got back to campus, we discovered that some club was letting people tye dye shirts! My shirt looks ok, but my fingers look like I'm about to die due to frostbite. At least it was fun! But what I'm most proud of is that I didn't get a DROP of dye on my white shorts!

See ya soon!

Second Day of Classes

Today all I had was two classes, and I finished them before 1:00 pm. That's crazy! I am adapting to this new schedule after seven classes a day in high school, and all I can say is: This freakin' rules! I don't have to go from class to class like a robot. It's all very fun. I'm free to hang out with friends, nap, shop, and do laundry all between different classes. Though it's only the second day of classes today, I can say, I'm in love with college!

Classes today comprised of my major, Psychology, and English Comp. Both professors are women and seem so nice. The psychology professor is this mousy little woman who speaks with such vigor and love for her subject. I'm sure I'll enjoy her class very much. The woman who teaches English compared herself to "taking your grandmother to college with you." I can already tell this woman will be a friendly and easygoing professor - I don't find her very intimidating... Like my College Algebra teacher... That man scares me.

Another post coming soon!

Survived my First Day of Classes!

Yesterday was both nerve wracking and exciting at the same time. Because of our little "hurricane," Monday's classes were canceled, so Tuesday was my first ever day of college classes! I had Oceanography and College Algebra; yes both sound relatively easy, but with the volume of work the teachers give, it'll be relatively difficult.

At the beginning of orientation, I was getting nervous about my classes. I didn't know what to take, how hard they'd be, how much free time is have... It was all intimidating. But after I actually got my schedule (that an advisor helped me build) I calmed down. I promise, nothing is terrifying unless you make it that way.

Orientation is Over! Week of Welcome!

So guys, I must say, in my two days on campus, I've fallen in love with the place. Meeting so many new people and making friends was one of my biggest fears when it came to living on my own, but not anymore! I feel comfortable in my own skin, being my own person, and meeting people who have the same personalities as me! Don't ever think you're the only person who likes this, or does that - you're not alone. Trust me :)

Week of Welcome started yesterday at 4:00, unfortunately, the traffic back to school was absolutely horrible and I had just dropped my dad off and said goodbye. So not only was it raining, and bumper to bumper, but I was semi emotional and had a little trouble with driving, so I was late to the week of welcome kick-off. Oh well... People told me that balloons were dropped from the ceiling and that's it.

Overall, I've registered for classes, moved in my dorm, made some really fun friends, exercised for the first time in forever, and have vowed to myself to eat healthier.

Hope to update again soon!

Day One of the College Road Trip

Today has been long and tiring--probably because I was up doing laundry and packing until the wee hours of the morning.

Dad woke up even earlier than I did to pack my tiny car full of my clothes and all sorts of crap I'm taking to college with me. I was really surprised when everything actually fit into my clown sized car!

The truth guys: saying goodbye to my two little brothers and mom was harder than expected. I remember saying earlier this summer that I don't mind leaving home and saying good bye to my family, but in all honesty, I almost cried when I hugged my brothers (I know dad did). Advice, just give them a hug, tell your family that you love them, and take off. If you linger, the goodbye gets much harder. So just leave!

Right now I'm just chilling in a hotel halfway to the University of South Florida! The drive down was long and rainy, but we pulled through, and didn't hydroplane! Go us! I tried driving the whole trip, but had to give over the wheel to dad. Pretty sure I slept half of the trip, but we won't talk about that ! Dad won't leave me alone about that haha.

Well I'll see Tampa tomorrow afternoon/evening! Can't wait to see my new home! Orientation will be on Monday and Tuesday and I can't wait! Be expecting a blog about my experience there!

I'm signing out! Good night y'all :)
